David Dimitrie, head of the Kipps Lane Community Association, to Leschinski Design initially to re-develop his organization's website previously used to disseminate information about the area and local resources. But as the project took shape David decided a new website, separate from the KLCA, would achive his goals and meet the qualifications of the London Creative Communities Initiative.
With new funding from the Creative Communities Initiative the website took on the name "NortheastEnder" and focused on citizen journalism as the main feature.
Modeled after altlondon.org, another independent media site, it is a community website designed to showcase community events, and groups representative of the people who live in the Northeast of London. With local news as a tool to get discussions and dialogue going, and to provide a voice to individuals the Northeast in a way that is accessible to everyone.
